Here is compiled a list of the playable races available to registered users in Atharen.
NOTE: Some of these articles are being reworked and their names are being changed from previous iterations. As such, the names may not match with their icons, or some lore mentions. Please be aware, and disregard these discrepancies.
Arkanai: A people fallen from their old bonds, once tied to Muid and the God of Time. They have since found a new purpose: to live, survive, and explore the world.
Druskai: A nautical race born of the will of a wrathful God. Divided and set adrift, tied to two uneven corners of the world and eternally at war, the Druskai are the terror of the world's seas.
Fae'Norai: Found once as abandoned and scattered seeds, the Fae'Norai - or Fae - were embraced by an Elven God, and were made to prosper and belong. The Fae are a race of plant-like beings, known to wear disguises, second skins.
Gemling: Once they were small spirits that wandered the Dreamscape, they yearned to become mortals and live among the denizens of Atharen. Now they are a race of crystal explorers that seek out adventure in a desire to follow dreams of their own.
Gnomes: Gnomes are the open and innovative people from the mountains of Rokhan. From their sole stronghold of Dagrun, they continue to shape the technology of the world.
Human: The dominant race of Atharen. Humanity is responsible for shaping much of the world's recent and some of its ancient history. For better or worse, the world would not be the place it is today without them.
Hyr'Norai: Atharen's very first mortal race, the Hyr'norai have been blessed with light internal to their beings, and time to walk the world and experience it all. The High Elves are an ancient and proud people. With history stretching back to the enigmatic Age of Lost Time, they remain a people of grace, retaining it despite the tragedies of old.
Jindai: The elemental half-giants who were aided by a mysterious patron long ago. They were taken to the elemental planes for a time before returning with a simple goal. To die in a way glorious enough for them to permanently enter their patron's realm instead of being locked in an eternal cycle of life and death.
Kohrun: The Kohrün dwell on an archipelago known as Rünskaldr, a harsh and frigid set of isles to Atharen's far north. An undead, restless people, they seek thrills in their raids -- and glory in spreading the horde that is their deathless race.
Krish: Hailing from the treacherous Outlands, the Krish are a violent, disciplined, war-like people known to be Atharen's most hated scourge. Invading other planes aboard skybound vessels called Harbingers, their history of tyranny makes their very appearance one that invokes dread.
Orkhai: WORK IN PROGRESS.
Rathor: Once a breed of elves known as the Rath'Norai, the beastfolk of Atharen dedicate their lives to the pursuit of their Purpose in order to make themselves whole again. This quest often sees them across the entire world, leading to the Rathor being one of the most well-traveled and wide spread races of Atharen.
Sil'Norai: None have fallen further from the heights of grace than the Lord Elves, who have endured a long march through all of the pains of history. A people of a monumental past, once dominating the world, they have since been confined to a realm corroded by ethereal rot, subjected to the will of a terrible new race.
